The memorial...

Now the sadness is crashing into me like waves. That crazy dad of mine is gone. His bag with his book and Tom's number written on a napkin. And the form checking in his belongings inverted the last two digits. His glasses in a bag and no signature on the form. Just the word "EXPIRED."

I am so sad and there were so many people there and I did not get to talk to them enough or thank them.

Some of us towies know it's been really difficult for you lately with your own crazy medical problems at such a young age for it, and now this shocking and unexpected cruel turn and how it happened. Our thoughts are not just with your sister, but you, Pat, and everybody else.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I lost my dad suddenly less than 6 months ago too so I can imagine how surreal the past days have been for you. Give yourself time to grieve and if it helps, talk to your dad and say your goodbye to him the way you'd like to...
Blessings and prayers,
Wendy,fsp

Ed Vega was a warrior. I battled him for a few years, neither of us won, but both of us fought.

I wish peace to Ed and to your family.

I was telling a friend about Ed the other day and came across your blog. I cannot imagine growing up with such a difficult, prickly, perceptive, unique person. He was one of a kind. I was one of many who were frustrated by his constant battles but who also saw the beauty of his strange mix of impossible demands and acute sensitivity (sometimes even toward others!). I see some of him in your sister's lyrics when she gets a little too uncomfortable and close to home. You're a neat bunch.
